Located just five minutes from the Edgewater Resort in historic downtown Kelseyville. Lean against their tasting bar and sample their wines ~ THERE'S NEVER A CHARGE ~ and browse among the unique gifts, wine accessories and logo wear. Wildhurst Vineyards' first vines were planted in 1966, when pear grower Myron Holdenried decided to replant an orchard to Zinfandel grapes. His Lake County grapes were in great demand for their quality and in 1991 he decided to open his own winery. His goal was to produce carefully crafted, honest and accessible wines, reasonably priced and styled to showcase the region and the excellence of its fruit. Drawing on 250 acres of proprietor-owned vineyards, Wildhurst makes Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Limited-edition Private Reserve varietals are also produced. Kelseyville is the home of the annual "Pear Festival" each year in September. |

STEELE WINES 4350 Thomas Drive Located just 10 minutes from the Edgewater Resort founded in 1991 by Jed Steele, former winemaker at Kendall-Jackson. Steele Wines produces Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Zinfandel, plus small lots of other varietals. The tasting room is open throughout the year (call for winter hours) and winery tours are available by appointment. Home of the annual "Steele Wines Harvest Festival" in October. |

PLOYEZ WINERY 11171 South Highway 29 Located just 30 minutes from the Edgewater Resort, established on 53 acres, owned by Gerald and Shirley Ployez, this is Lake County's newest winery and first producer of sparkling wine. A third generation winemaker from France's Champagne region and a graduate of the University of Dijon, Gerald Ployez brings a decade of California wine experience to this venture. They also produce Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Gamay Beaujolais, another new wine to Lake County. They feature special events with music, food and of course their great wines year round. |

GUENOC & LANGTRY ESTATE VINEYARDS AND WINERY 21000 Butts Canyon Road Located just 45 minutes from the Edgewater Resort, Guenoc is where noted Victorian actress Lillie Langtry owned a vineyard and winery from 1888 to 1906 and is now a 23,000 acre estate in Lake and Napa counties. Owned by the Magoon family, it is the first single-proprietor American Viticultural Area in California. From 400 acres of estate vineyards, the wine produces Guenoc Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Langtry Meritage Red and White. Their wines continue to win world championship awards and the highest of accolades domestically and internationally. The visitors center is open daily with winery tours by appointment. |

CEAGO VINEGARDEN 511 East Highway 20 In January 2001 Jim Fetzer purchased the "Ceago Del Lago" property to showcase his estate wines under the label Ceago Vinegarden. This 220-acre lake front property has been transformed into an agricultural resort-style development that promotes a holistic farming environment of plant and animal life. It surrounds a Hacienda style compound of buildings with vegetables, fruits, herb gardens, grapes, kiwis, olives, walnuts, figs, and lavender, as well as a variety of seasonal planting such as sunflowers and wheat. Wine grapes are the primary production crop with planting of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc. Domestic and wild animals are incorporated to demonstrate how the animal and plant kingdoms can work best together in an agricultural environment. The holistic approach to farming is demonstrated by guided tours and special events. |

COUGAR'S LEAP WINERY 9300 Seigler Springs Road North Follow the tracks to Cougar's Leap Winery, nestled into the east side of the Mayacmas Mountains at Black Rock Ranch in Lake County. Well fed herds of deer yield hearty cougars. Head trained vines and well drained volcanic soil yield hearty wines. Three wines are currently produced by owners Ed and Eileen Johnson, Petite Sirah, Wildcat Red and Wildcat White. Cougar's Leap is an off the grid winery, employing a combination of solar power and a ground source cooling system. |
